Why Catholic Radio?

For the longest time, I wanted to become the next Erin Andrews or a female version of Anderson Cooper. I found excitement in stories. I found excitement in deadlines and breaking news that got my heart racing. I’ve seen things that others haven’t when out filming or interviewing for a package. I remember my life changing drastically just 2.5 years ago. My closeness with Christ transformed the way I looked at life. I wanted to go into media where I could inspire others about my story and my relationship with Christ. I found Catholic media. Ever since then, well as they say, is history.

The opportunity working in Catholic media has transformed my skills and allowed me to express my faith, which is a deep part of who I am as a person. My son and I are grateful. One of our biggest support and prayer group is at Catholic Community Radio. This station is unlike what you hear on the radio. This station is unique and filled with fruitful information. It feeds the mind, body and soul.

No believer in Christ can be separate form the supreme beauty; of proclaiming Christ to all people”
— Pope John Paul II, Vatican City, Sept. 19, 2003

So why Catholic Radio? Pope John Paul II once said

This apostolate screams new evangelization. The content is fruitful, timely and informative. You find yourself hungry for a deeper understand of the faith. You want to hear more, whether it be from our morning show, WakeUp!, to Word on Fire with a great mentor, EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo. As a staff, you inspire us. We have grown so much with expanding our studio and perfecting our shows for you and for the community.

We not only pray for each other, but we guide each other answering questions happening in our world, in our country and in our state. We acknowledge Church doctrine and strive to demonstrate the Catechism. We answer your questions. We are a family in Southeast Louisiana.

Why Catholic Radio? It’s fruitful. It’s enjoyable. It’s our faith. It’s the truth.

I couldn’t have asked for a better career. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to participate in the new evangelization. Catholic Community Radio transformed me and still moves me today to become the best young Catholic I can be. I have met so many great EWTN reporters, hard-working diocese and archdiocese employees who have become some of the most important people in my life.

I thank God everyday for this apostolate. I thank God to be working in one of the biggest Catholic markets in the United States. I thank God for being able to proclaim my faith freely and through the truth.

I still watch Anderson and occasionally ESPN with Erin during football season, but 690 a.m. is in my car and everytime I listen, I just can’t seem to turn it off and that, that, I am thankful for.

Yours in Christ,
