Calling all young adults to join us for Magnify & Midnight Run
Midnight Run (MNR) is an outreach concept being utilized throughout the United States in ministering to the homeless by way of food and fellowship. It is a great way to get involved and volunteer in your local community. In serving we are giving God gratitude for all of the many good things that he has done within our lives at Mater Dolorosa (1230 S. Carrollton Ave.)
6:30pm: Volunteers for MNR meet in Parish Center, located behind Mater Dolorosa, in order to assemble bag lunches with prayer cards, for the homeless.
7:00-8:00pm (Magnify): prayer and music led by young adults
8:00-till (MNR): we will coordinate a few vehicles to drive to St. Joseph’s Church near the Claiborne overpass, which is where we will distribute the food. We should be finished distributing all the bag lunches and return to Mater Dolorosa no later than 9:00pm.
Volunteer Info: Sign-up below by Monday, June 19, before midnight. Another email will be sent out Tuesday, June 20 to all volunteers, requesting that each individual bring a specific type and quantity of food (ex: Lisa:1/2 pound of turkey, Brian: 1 loaf of bread, Jamal: a dozen juice boxes, etc..) with them to Mater Dolorosa Church on, June 21 at 6:30p.m. (If all you have time for is to bring food and help assemble the bag lunches, that’s perfectly fine).
If there are any questions please feel free to email any of the below listed MNR coordinators, and we will be happy to answer them.
