Celebrating 165 Years of Catholic Education - St. John the Evangelist Interparochial School Homecoming Mass & Reception

On Sunday, 9/23/18, St. John School in Plaquemine will honor the many religious who were instrumental in the 165 years of Catholic education which started in 1853 with a college, boys' school and girls' school. St. John graduates include Monsignor Earl Gauthreaux who is in his 62nd year as a priest serving at St. Maria Goretti in New Orleans, Father John Carville, retired Vicar General of the Baton Rouge diocese and currently doing missionary work and Father Jason Palermo, pastor of St. Joseph in French Settlement and St. Stephen in Maurepas. Several of the Marianite sisters who taught at St. John School will attend.

Successful graduates continue with $1.5MM in scholarships and over 80% of the 2018 St. John graduates qualifying for T.O.P.S. The celebration Mass is at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Plaquemine followed by a reception in the church parish hall.
