June Respect Life Gathering - Mercy behind Bars


Location: St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Cultural Center, 2025 Contance ST, New Orleans

Event Information: Join us for the next Respect Life Gathering - Mercy behind Bars - on Wednesday June 19 at 6:30pm with the St. Alphonsus Catholic Parish for “Released to Nowhere” a play written by formerly incarcerated Rhonda Oliver and performed by a cast of formerly incarcerated women.  With other supporters, the women have formed a non-profit organization, Women Determined, which provides housing, clothing, reconciliation, transportation, and employment assistance to women newly released from Louisiana prisons and correction facilities.  The play will be performed at the St. Alphonsus Cultural Center, 2025 Constance Street, New Orleans (between St. Andrew and Josephine Streets on the lake side of the street) and will be followed by a Q & A period and a brief overview of the archdiocese’s plan for assisting persons released from prison with re-entry issues.  Admission is free but donations are requested to support the work of Women Determined.
